Paul is a Partner of Emissary Partners.  He has 28 years of experience in Australia and overseas as a senior executive, management consultant, strategic adviser, major commercial contract negotiator, executive coach and senior public policy adviser.

Paul has extensive knowledge of and experience with the executive search process across a broad range of sectors.  During his career he has initiated, led, or played a key role in many major strategy and organisational change/restructuring projects in Australia. As part of this Paul worked intensively with executive search firms to recruit senior executives either as the client, or on behalf of his clients where he played a key advisory role.  

Before joining Emissary Paul was the Managing Director of the Australian consulting firm Strategic Knowhow specialising in the provision of strategic advisory and executive coaching services to Boards, CEOs and senior management across a wide range of sectors including: professional services; banking and finance; manufacturing, government; utilities; agribusiness; transport; insurance; not-for-profit; and engineering services.  Other executive roles held by Paul include: Executive Director, CEDA; CEO and Deputy CEO in the NSW Government; Senior Manager, Group Strategic Projects, Westpac; Director, Australian Department of Finance’s Americas Regional Office, Washington DC; Principal and Ministerial Adviser, British Treasury, London; and Chief Finance Officer and Ministerial Adviser, Department of Finance,  Canberra.

Paul has a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics) from the University of Newcastle. He also undertook the residential Executive Program in Finance and Management at the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania.  Paul is a Fellow of both the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Management.
